Jon


Lead Tutor

Jon is an outstanding teacher, with many years of experience in the state sector. This included several years as a faculty lead for Business and Computing responsible for curriculum and effectively managing a small team of dedicated professionals. He is also an excellent teacher trainer, experienced in guiding and supporting others to achieve their full potential.

Jon has taught KS3/KS4 courses in Business and Computing, Level 3 IT Apprenticeships and Level 6 Undergraduate Social Enterprise. As well as holding a Postgraduate Certificate in Education, Jon is also a chartered professional member of the British Computer Society and a professional member of the Institute of Training and Occupation Learning.



Marc


Lead Tutor

Marc has taught ICT and Computer Science for 15 years at both GCSE and A Level. He has a proven track record supporting and inspiring young people who faced a range of challenges including academic and economic difficulties enabling them to achieve the best outcomes possible.

Marc is currently living in Wales and has significant experience with the Welsh curriculum. As a Head of Computer Science in a state school, Marc is an effective manager able to lead and motivate staff. In addition to being a skilled teacher able to create a positive and supportive learning environment.

Marc is always looking for new ways to improve his teaching practice as well as keeping up with the latest developments in Computing and Education Technology.

Marc has an honours degree in Computing and Informatics and holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Education.

Sharon


Pastoral & Academic Tutor

Sharon has many years experience working in an IBM mainframe environment running IBM/zOS. As a systems programmer Sharon has experience with working with IBM and third-party software products and utilities. This included installation, tuning and upgrading as well as providing technical support. Acting in a support role, Sharon acquired a good working knowledge of other key components of an IBM mainframe environment such as DB2 and RACF in addition to mainframe programming languages including REXX and Assembler.

Sharon has first-hand experience of mentoring IT apprentices. In that capacity she has provided support, guidance, advice and training in different aspects of mainframe systems programming. Sharon joins the team specialising in IT apprenticeships.

Sharon is a professional member of the British Computer Society.


Ash


Pastoral & Academic Tutor

Ash is an experienced teacher of English, Media Studies and Drama. She has worked with students from a wide range of backgrounds, including those experiencing challenges to their mental or physical health, providing targeted and personalised learning to enable every student to unlock their full potential.

She current lives in Wales and has experience of the Welsh curriculum. As the former Head of Faculty for English and Drama in one of the UK's leading online schools, Ash has a strong background in remote education, as well as knowledge of the latest developments in this field. She is always looking for new ways to incorporate technology into her pedagogy to improve student engagement and enhance the learning experience. She is also experienced in curriculum development and planning, as well as managing a remote team of teachers across continents to deliver a high and consistent standard of learning.

Ash has a BA (Hons) in English Literature and Creative Writing, a Postgraduate Certificate of Education and is currently studying for her Masters degree in English Literature.
